Chicago Stadium has been one of the great buildings in sports. It opened in 1929 way back in Al Capone's time, and is a storehouse of memories. The Blackhawks have played there since its opening, and the Bulls started there in 1967,
The unique concrete stadium rose like a fortress above West Madison. The artist captures the excitement of a night game when streetcars ran out front. In the cold winter air the smoke lingers, and sofly diffuses the night colours.
